Preschool & School Choice in Croydon

Exciting changes lay just around the corner, and the School Board, administration, and staff have been busy preparing for a successful 26/27 school year. The district will focus its efforts on delivering a top-notch Program for Early Learners that builds a strong foundation for each child, wherever their educational journey takes them. After leaving the village school, children will transition at an earlier age into the program chosen by their family, with Kearsage serving as a strong anchor for Croydon.

School Choice for Grades 1-12

New Anchor School Illustration

The Croydon School District is expanding its school choice program to all grades 1-12, enabling students to benefit from being in their program of choice throughout their entire educational journey. Kearsarge will serve as anchor school, guaranteeing admission to all Croydon students and offering them the full spread of their very rich educational and extracurricular programming.

Transportation will be provide to and from Kearsarge Elementary in New London as well as Kearsarge Middle and High in North Sutton. All three campuses are about a 20-25 minute drive from Croydon.

In order to better plan logistics, we are asking all families to complete a survey indicating which school they plan to attend and whether or not they will require transportation.

Renovations to Little Red

Work at Little Red will begin as soon as school ends in June and will complete before September. Renovations will include replacing the roof, refurbishing the bell tower, replacing the front-entrance portico, repointing and repairing brickwork, fixing structural concerns within the floor system, replacing the finished flooring, bringing bathrooms and doorways into ADA compliance, improving insulation, repainting the interior and exterior of the building, and paving the driveway and parking area.

Additionally, our school staff will be updating the layout and design of instructional space to better align with current standards of excellence in early childhood education.

Local contractors have been selected for nearly all trades, and we plan to have an open house for the community prior to reopening.
