The School Board happily voted to accept a $50,000 donation from the Jack & Dorothy Byrne Foundation, which was awarded to the Croydon School District for building a new playground.
The Jack & Dorothy Byrne Foundation was established in 1999 by Dorothy and her late husband, the insurance industry executive who led the turnaround of GEICO and founded the White Mountain Insurance Group. Croydon Village School now joins a list of hundreds beneficiaries – both large and small – spanning the Upper Valley region.
The School Board extends its thanks to the Jack & Dorothy Byrne Foundation for its contribution to Croydon, a gift that will surely bring years of fun and play to future students at Croydon Village School. A special thanks also goes to Amanda Leslie for putting in the effort to apply for the donation.
We look forward to seeing the new playground, likely in time for the 27/28 school year!
