  1. Call to Order 6:07pm
  2. Roll Call- Amanda, Samantha, Aaron, Sue
  3. Public Forum #1 (15 minutes)
    1. Hope – Do you have any students in Claremont? Are you up to date on what is going on? Claremont board meeting 8/20 at the SHS Auditorium. Lawyer, Commissioner of Ed will be in attendance. Do not know at this point what the plan for moving forward is. State will not step in to “rescue” without knowing more. Some revenue was not received. If schools open on schedule, there will be limitations on what the school can offer
      1. Amanda – Would it be worthwhile to reach out to the families of the students enrolled in Claremont? Sue will do this
    2. Hope – Filing period for proposed legislation is Sept 15-19. Continuing to work on education funding, including special ed.

  6. Informational Updates
    1. Preparation for opening of school
      1. Attendance was great and growth was noticeable. Worked on reading and math
      2. Staff worked over the summer to clean the buildings. Now have storage for Special Ed files, reg ed files in Little Red. Archived records are now in storage in Big White
      3. Enrollment, up to 16 in 3-4, 14 or 15 in k-2
      4. Fully staffed and ready to go
      5. Mahesh Sharma is coming Thursday, 8/21, 5-6:30. How to help your child work to their fullest potential in math

      1. Amanda – motion to move into nonpublic, Samantha 2nd, all in favor 6:30

    1. Website  
      1. Amanda motion to accept offer from Aaron to build website, Samantha 2nd, Aaron abstained.
      2. Should be able to launch website within next 30 days, need to meet with Sue and Beth
    2. Kearsarge tuition agreement
      1. Aaron and Beth presented to the KRSD board. Went well. 
      2. Would we end anchor school with Claremont? No
      3. Would all elementary be in New London? Yes
      4. Bussing is TBD
        1. Motioned to move forward with KRSD contract. Amanda motion, Samantha 2nd, All in favor
    3. Sue met with Forest Ransdell, new Super of Newport. 
      1. He feels students should not be disenrolled
    4. Second reading and approval of DBJ – Transfer of Appropriations
      1. Amanda motion to adopt Transfer of Appropriation Policy as revised, Samantha 2nd, all in favor
    5. Second reading and approval of EBCA – Crisis Prevention and Emergency Response
      1. Ready for adoption pending EBCB, JLCJA, EBCH 
    6. Second reading and approval of DJ – Purchasing
      1. Amanda move to adopt policy DJ, Samantha 2nd, all in favor
