The School Board and Administration would like to wish all of Croydon a Happy Halloween. This year marked the first parade since the closure of the general store. One tradition ends; another begins. Instead of the march down busy Route 10, the children of Croydon Village School put on a parade through the autumn woods and over to the Town Hall. They were greeted by parents and members of the community along their walk, with plenty of sweets to keep them energized!
Once at the Town Hall, they checked out the Fire Department’s tanker and visited a few more members of the community. The children, school staff, and even some visitors showed off great costumes. They included Luke Skywalker, Sandy Cheeks, an angel, a dinosaur, the grim reaper, a police officer, a scarecrow, and Cruella De Vil. There was even a goat dressed up as a spider! After the parade, the kids followed their teachers back to Big White, where they found a mini haunted house full of spooky decorations. Everybody had a great time!
We would like to thank Sue Blair and her staff for putting on another successful and safe Halloween celebration. Thanks also go out to Caroline Dupere (president of the PTO), the Croydon Volunteer Fire Department, and members of the community for supporting and contributing to this wonderful event.
And… Thank you to everybody who came out for the parade!
